Service Learning : Saints with a Heart

  Today is our college service learning day. Well basically, we have 9 classes .. split in to 2 grps :
A group i/c of  housekeeping .and a group i/c of distibuting can-food. Our class was i/c of distributing can foood. WE've like a total of 2 hundred over can food packets to distribute to the residents of Redhill and Telok Blangah. From what i've learnt, the residents are usually very very poor, or old needy unemployed folks in the block.

  So the day begin! with sorting and packing of goodie bag from the various boxes of can food which we have packed up and transported to Rani MAs Comunity Centre Earlier. Each goody bag contians 6 different can food + one packet of dry noodle. Well, the can foods are donated by Saints and some teachers from our college. We've found very expensive items like ... abalone and erm ya chicken essence ... a few exp items. One of my frens .. erm haa wrap masking tape around the abalone can food and said we can save this for our class chalet. haaa and yup that can food has become our class's memorial item from this service learning.

  After packing, we've to carry 5-6 goody bag .. which is kinda heavy. My fingers are like joined together after i carried the goody bags to the bus for loading.  We later board the bus and headed to block 89 of erm dunno where is that place .. some blocks in red-hill and .... had our lunch there.

  The can-food disb. took place quite fast. Was expecting it to be a few hours but we finished it in 30 - 45 mins. And we got an hour ++ worth of free time left to do what we want. Our class at first hand out in the playground nearby ... and were happily chatting and laughing away. Haa the mischievious daniel ran around to scare people with his imitation of "dog barks". And the funny thing is, he tried to scare my friend ... yue qing ... but when he wanted to run off away after yue qing gave hcase, he crash on wee kiang and he fell back on all fours. Then everyone was roflol .. haa.... btw wee kiang is one of the big-size guys in our class. haaa and so wee kiang seems unaffected buy the impact but daniel .... haa too bad 4 him =P.

Later hong, wanzhen, sammeema , cheryl and me went inside a tuition centre[i presume] to visit it. We totally dunno what place is that, but we just enter and look look. The aunty i/c questioned our motives and we told her we are explorers of the unknown .. and therefore we ventured into her place. She told us to feel free to explore ... and men we found a big pool of books ... down there. Got alot of calvin and hobb's comic, small ville reading books, Enid Blyton .. haa that was my childhood reading book. I took a copy of Garfield comics and began reading. My friends took Calvin and hobb's and dig in too. We later returned back to blk 89 fro some class photo-taking and den back to CC for a last video presentation. Ok la ...  think tat's abt all. I would say the service learnign is quite meaningful but also quite boring :P.
