Had a great great tiem today. Pastor Aries taught us about hurt and don'ts in dealing with Hurt. I shall briefly summarise what he said.
6 Don'ts in dealin with Hurts.
1)Don't Ignore the hurt
-Clint Eastwood approach to hurt [ or the macho approach ]
-To think that getting hurt is nothing, it's ok to let hurt accumulate in my life. It won't affect me
-This will result in a "Denial-Cycle"
-So don't Deny hurt.
-Don't procastinate hurt. Don't put it aside and deal with it another day.
2)Don't Run away from Hurt
-Chicken approach
-Running away is like a roller coaster ride. You'll lose the "high" feeling when the ride is over. And u'll be back to square one
Ps: 55:6-8 ; John 16:33
3)Don't try to hide the hurt
-Pocessions never compensate pain
-By hiding our sins, it will intensify our hurt
-Revealing is the beginning of Healing
4) Don't Worry about the hurt
-worrying is like negative praying
John5:2 ; Ps 37:8
5) Don't resent the hurt
-Resentment will cloud your mind
-It is an emotional toxin that will poison your heart
-You'll be less or even totally unreceptive to the holy spirit
6) DON'T GIVE UP =)
-for when there is a will there is a way [my own saying :P]
-Pray to God for a soln
-Read the bible
Remember God has conquered the world. Nothing is impossible for him to accomplish in your life.
Hope this will be a blessing to many who read my blog. Cheers =D
Next : Garrick's And Garbriels Birthday PArty. The Twin's Birthday
MEN ... you should go to their house. Haa i've bet they heard the same response over and over again. When i first step into their room, i was like " !!!!!! ". Their room was soooo big. Men and guess what, they each have their own room. Gabriel's room was slightly bigger than Garrick and it has a TV inside. Haa Garrick say he needs less time compard to Gabriel to clean the room :). So either way, i supposed its a win-win situation. Whatever the case .. the room was so big, it's spacious enough to contain all of us ... [His friends whom invited he invited] which amounts to about 14. 14 people in a room excluding the twins !!!. Men they also had their relatives over and it's really lika a big big bday smash. It was very nice. Why ??? COS GOT GOOD FOOD. YUM YUM!. Got good pineapple rice ... hmmmm haaaa and not forgetting the good kway tiao, the good sweet-sour fish, Egg tofu, Chicken, Fried Wanton [cooked by Garrick himself] and bla bla more. A buffet style catering. What a fabulous time we had munching over the food. I relentlessy help myself with 3 yum yum servingz :P. Buahahhah nice food.
Then we celebrate his bday, His family + abit of w143 style. Ha how we celebrate? ok 1st after we sang them the bday song, we got Jian Xiang and another guy call Jason to cover their eyes ... a manual hand-to-eye blindfold. Then, we prepared 2 items : ice cream and Lao puo Bing[which is one of their fav food for them] with candles on top. We got them to each select one item, by saying either hot or cold. So unknowinglu, Garrick chose cold, which means he gets the ice cream and Gabriel the Lao puo Bing. So we sang the bday song again ... and after that we let them see what they chose. Haaa .. the fun part was when we ask them to eat their selected item without spoon. So, Garrick had a pretty hard time eating his ice cream while Gabriel happily enjoyed his Lao Puo Bing. Haa den the very very funny part happen. The sisters suggested to let them feed each other. So Garrick happily delivered the bowl of half-melted ice cream to Gabriel's face. Haa we can see Gabriel strugglign to lick and taste his Ice cream. Likewise, Gabriel thrusted the Lao Puo Bing into Garrick's mouth. LOL very funny. hehe
We had a great tiem fellowshipping and playing games there. We had fun all the way till 10.30 pm. So it's pretty late but we really had alot of fun there. Alot of laughters ... and sharing . So pretty cool bday party!! Thx for inviting me Garrick =D haa by now their bday shld be over. hmmm well guess tat's all. Did i overtyped? haha hands too itchy in the middle of the night =P

Hillsongs United .... wooohooo and Pastor Ulf Ekman. Men the chruch is real crowded today. Probably because many christians learn that Hillsongs is coming to City Harvest this weekend. Who are the Hillsongs ?? Haa they are the reknown Christian band from Hillsongs Australia, Pastor Brian Houston's Church. Famous for the music production and strong church foundation.
Today's Service was very different. Compared with the past few exciting events like Weekend Connection, 15th Anniversary Celebration, today's service was extraordinarily special. It's really different and i really thank god for guiding me thru' my ushering and serving the crowd. It was qutie messy at first, when the crowd was released from the doors and everyone was like rushing to get seats. Within 3 min, the whole hall was jam-packed with people. With youngsters and oldsters streaming from all openings of the hall.[excluding the window of cos] So i was like "tien ar" or " oh man". Instructions are kinda conflicting ... but still we manage to hold the crowd at some point .... to ensure smooth traffic and erm .. dunno la. Well i was abit blur at the counting of seats cos people were standing and seating ... Basically our role is to ensure all empty seats are filled and to give a status of the available seats and to guide people around to their seats. So with this mess, things are def not gonna be easier.
MEN ... the praise and worship is awesome. Comparable with Emerge Conference. The singers are simply fantastic. Marvelous. No wonder their CD's sell like hot cakes. Lemme recall , we sang "one way, My desire, More than life, and some praise songs which i nvr heard b4. " Truly the bring up the spiritual atmosphere of the crowd.
Ahhh .... the sermon. It was one of the most amusing... as in humorous- sermon i have ever heard. The pastor was really hippy and hoppy. He really entertained us with his actions and expressions. And he shared alot of deep insights of the bible and the corresponding gifts of the Holy Spirit. I didn't know he was a radical non-christian before. And that how he had an confronting experience with God, who spoke directly to his heart when he was being prayed for. He quickly stood up and ran away from the guy who is praying for him, but he describe how his heart pound, and God's words are repeatedly confronting him. That he is a sinner. Well he went home ... after making sure den no one else is watching him, hid inside his room and started approaching God. And soon enough, he was saved. And how he 1st got baptised by the Holy spirit and started speaking in tongues fervently for 2 whole hours. Ha he said all in a funny way which i dun tink i am good enough to describe what he experience. But truly it was a great encounter. A great entertaining, profounding and eye-opening sermon.
We ended off singing Jewish songs. Men Jewish songs are hard to sing. It can be quite slow and den suddenly we have to start rapping .... wejrbwejbr and ya tat's abt it. A GREAT SERVICE. Too bad i cant serve in the front rows. Can get to see the Hillsongs United Crew much better. =D .. God bless all who read my blog. That is once agian, if u din fall asleep when u reach this point. But den i type until so nice .. surely u must be entertain. haaa dun *fall off yr chair* Okie tat's it . . . . .

Erm more like paragraph of the day
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.

[For all You've Done]-Album
[Hillsongs Australia]-Band
Into Your courts I run with praises
Flowing from my heart
Every day I wake I sing Your song
It's the anthem of my life
I want to spend my days
In Your presence, Lord
Bowed before Your throne
In the house of God
Is where I find my peace
It's where I find my
Home is heaven
One day Lord, I will live
In Your courts, You'll find me
In worship at Your feet
Hide me now
In the shadow of Your wings
Where I will be
Where I will be
Your love is all I need
So desperately I have sought Your face
I know You hear my every cry
And petition that I make
Jesus, oh You are my treasure
Jesus, oh You are my treasure

Today i had a cell group outing at East Coast PArk. Men, the whoel place was soooo crowded. Tents flooded the grass patches next to the sea. Children can be seen dancing and playing at the beaches. There are lots of dogs there as well, which is very unfortunate for me. haiz ... Well ok, i was late at the start. And they were all playing cards on the mats ... a game called "4 of a kind" i tink. So the latecomers, which include Emily, me and Wan yi joined in the game much later. Fairly simple game. Get four of a kind, Spade, heart, club and diamond and quickly do an action so that everyone can follow. Last one to do the action will be the forfeit-er. We play alot of card games today ... but i am too lazy to type out all. :P
Just after the games, we went to feast at the Kopitiam next to Mac. I had naan [ AN nortern Indian dish, and in this case a Paskistan dish according to my fren] for lunch and the dishes are all very pricey. I paid 3.50 for Cheese and Garlic naan - which looks like cheese and garlic prata. I had to pay 2.50 more if i want curry ... which they only serve with chicken. So ex rite? And ermm i dun tink the dish is tat tasty .. haha. I rather eat plain prata with freee currry then their Garlic prata.
Anyway, soon we began our main activity of the day : Cycling o^-0 , and a very sad unfortunate incident befalled on me soon later. I was cycling ahead of my clique and aligted at Bedok Jetty to wait for my friends. And well, this is why i say seeing so many dogs is a very unfortunate thing for me. I failed to realise that dogs, like humans has to respond to the call of nature. And the failure to comprehend the seriousness of this situation has resulted in a very unfortunate incident. I walked around the jetty and den - hey there is a sit over there. Stangely everywhere is filled with people except that corner. So i happily sat down and smiled happily at passer-bys. After a while, i notice a stange smell. A smell that is so familiar but yet i had no idea what it is. As i sniff sniff here and sniff sniff there, i found an orange slimey piece of poop stuck on my shoes. i was like "OMG"...
And so i spend the last 1/2 hr, emptying my packet of tissue and water from my water bottle to clear the mess. Thankfully, there seem to be an miscommunication and my friends went ahead of me instead of stopping by at the Jetty. Kinda embarassingfor them to see me in this state. Everytime i swipe the poop off, i felt like vomiting. I juz had lunch and men i am facing + smelling blops of poop on my shoe. puack.
Haiz, later i received a call and they were at the canoes-area taking photos. I join in the fun ... but hhaha din tell them i stepped on poop. Don't worry i clear up the mess already so i tink i am 95% clean. haha.
At the end of the day, we returned our bikes and played games again. Wow this time they play thinking games ... which i feel is more of observation-based kind of games. I don't know about you but we play a crazy game. The objective is to find out how the game is played. lol. Mind boggling rite? Never in my life have i played these kinda games. It is not till the end, then i've figured out how the game is played. I was the pathetic last guy who figured out how to play the game. Hai .. i am slow today. Can't blame me mah. After all, i went thru a trauma b4 this :P
Later i went off and catch abit of the National Day parade. It was .. well like usual. A remix version of Home as Singapore's Theme song was sung by my great-great-great- senior, Lin Jun Jie. Btw in case u dunno who he is, he is a local singer and a Ex-saint[SAJC]. I guess there's nothing else i did but play com games. So tat's all :) and ya, i should end this off with greetings : happy bday Singapore! And happy day for students too cos no sch tmr .. whahaha

DP. A car ride with my deputy principle miss Chia. I know. You might ask "men how did u hitch that ride" or "Men are u a stowaway or something? " Well i would just say she is nice and did it out of kindness.
This morning, everything seems fine. I come to school, smile at my friends, chat with them and find out what i miss yest. BTW i was sick yesterday and did not come to school. Reason b'cos of headache and slight fever. Nothing really serious. Today, i thought i was much better. So i happily came to school and attended my lesson. But just when i started attending my first lesson which is bio lecture, the headache came back and its much more intense. I can hardly remember or focus on what the lecturer is trying to say. I just blindly copy the words down from the powerpoint slides unto my notes. I also felt nauseas . Dunno y. And my legs are like jelly. Totally weird experience. I went to see DP during my break and cant attend to her 'cos she is speaking to some students. So i was directed to the sick bay to take rest there. I sat there and tried to rest. Eventually, i laid down on the bed thereand rested. After about 45 mins to 1 hr (i guess), the DP entered and ask me how was i feeling. After a while , she told me she's gonna send me home. Not just release me from school u noe. She's gonna give me a lift back home. I was like wow... she's very nice to do that. So i went to pack my bag and followed her to her car.
What truly impact me is the conversation i had with her in the car. If you dunno Miss Chia, here is how she look like. She's not skimmy or lean. She's a very cheerful lady. She's known for her humourous speeched in assembly and her words of encouragement to those who need it. During the conversation, i also found out that she's a very friendly, approachable, jovial and caring DP. She talk to me about her F-grade students and what sadden her most when she sees students with 6 pts for L1R5 , not studying and getting bad results in their grades. She also talks about student's "cute" response to her when she asked them y they did not study for the Block test. She's kinda chatty and talks about how a student should study, especially when he/she is poor and have to find jobs in Singapore. She also talks about the struggle of entrepreneur and that being an entrepreneur is not as easy as one thought. She also mention that i am kinda "lucky" to ride her new Blue Volvo which is 6 months old (", )!!.
I am truly blessed by the ride and the conversation i had with her. She is real nice and inspirational, esp during this period when i am feeling quite down. Thx DP =)

haiz very sad :( Prelims in 23 days time :(. No time. The day is coming
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God hascalled me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
--Philippians 3:14
New International Version
THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S VERSE...
The way to walk a tightrope is to keep one's sight on thegoal, not on the ground or what is behind. The way to walkwith Jesus is to keep our eyes on the goal, his victory waitingfor us when he returns, not on the ground (our failures) andnot what is behind (our accomplishments). The goal of theChristian walk is to keep walking toward Jesus until we walkwith him in heaven.
MY PRAYER...
Lord, I look forward to the day when you call me by name andwalk hand in hand with me. Until that day, help me fix my eyeson what you want me to be and not what I've done. By yourgrace I ask it. Amen. ~~~~~~~~~
My head still hurts. =(

The $20 Bill
A well-known speaker started off his seminar
by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked,
"Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you
but first, let me do this.
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the ground
and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.
"Now, who still wants it?"
Still the hands went into the air.
My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it
because it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives,
we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt
by the decisions we make and
the circumstances that come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless.
But no matter what has happened or
what will happen, you will never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased,
you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we
know,
but by WHO WE ARE.
You are special- Don't EVER forget it."
If you do not pass this on, you may never know the
lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to,
or the hope that it can bring.
Count your blessings, not your problems.
And remember: amateurs built the ark ...
professionals built the Titanic.
If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.
=) May this be a source of encouragment to everyone.
