By Oct 1, Singapore will ban smoking in bus shelters and depots, public toilets, swimming complexes, stadiums and community clubs. The Government also plans to bar smoking in entertainment outlets such as pubs and discos later this year, and will decide by the end of the year whether to extend the ban to hawker centres as well as coffeeshops.
Will it really help? Will this ban deter foreigners from coming to Singapore? It just might. At least I would have cleaner air to breathe in where I stay.
