Visit To Chen Su Lan Old Folks Home

The bus stops at a fairly big white building ... The building was pretty old and true enuff ... the person in-charge says that the building is undergoing renovations soon. Two kids are studying at a table nearby. Well they aren't really shy ... tink they are excited abt us visiting them =). Well we brought some goodies for them and my 1st impression was 2 help them clean up the place ... ha but ... it turns out differently.

Well, let's say we've become tutors for the day. We are supposed to help them in their homework , studies .. etc .. So .... ya we began to teach.

Well, for me ... i got to teach 2 little girls .... my guess is their in p2 and p3. The one to my left [ Jiali ]was a real lazy bum. Teaching her was hard. She is quite a hyper-active kid. Shel talks alot ... , doesn't like to tink and expect me to find all the answers for her. And when i slowly guide her ... she'll suddenly do other stuffs. Well the girl beside me on the right is much " tamed " haha ermm wrong word .. more well-behaved i must say. She at least bother to think and i can guide her through the sums easily. ya btw .. we were teaching them Fractions. u noe addition, multiplication etc of fractions. It aint hard to teach those .. :). Well watching all of the kids learn and at the same time .... , chatting wif them + tutorin them , is quite interesting. It's like some of my childhood memories are revived and suddenly i am back to my primary sch days. it's where we'll compare whose mouth is bigger .. which superhero kicks butt .. blah blah. But there is something different btw this crowd of kids .... they are either from either poor or broken families .... One of the kid infront of me who was tutored by my friend suddenly cried ... [ silently tat is and not those boo-hoo-hoo*sniff*sniff* kind]. I was thinking she might cry because she felt fustrated that she could not do her sum .... or she is thinking abt her family. Her ohana. Well ... i certainly hope tis kids will really progress and had a good future nxt time :)

We left the place around 4 ... where it's time for the children to have their tea break. There'all very excited. All of them hurried off ... pack their bags ... and went off to have their snacks. We went off and took a bus to Ang Mo kio Mrt control station. ya tat's all 4 today. =)
