Picture of us.

[ cell group w143 ]

I shouldn't be posting but i am pretty excited about the pictures Chong sent me. We had a great time of fellowship and playing with little Lerisha.

She is such a cute girl!

I began to wonder if cute girls are always this naughty. Well if you dun know her .... i usually like to call her the little tornado of the house. She is pretty boyish for a girl ya know. She dares to leap at you from her seat unto people without fearing that she will smash unto the ground. She also likes to kick my butt when i am not looking. T_T ..

The cute thing about her is that she will dance when we sing Christian songs after cell group. She may be naughty but well ... i seem to get the impression that naughty girls are cute. But would naughty boys be cute too? They look more like a pain in the neck to me. why ar?? Why can't naughty boys be cute and adorable ?? Cummon naughty boys .. Start being cute! lol..

Here is some of little tornado's pics ..

It's a headache trying to take picture with her too.... *pulls hair*!!

[ testimonies ]

Testimonies are great faith-builders. I love to listen to all of the testimonies that my members share. It tells you that our christian walk is not just alone with God. The body of Christ will be lifted up as well. Its a great encourage-r ..

Chong :

I forgot what he say le. lol Chong forgive me.. tell me and i'll update.

Turtle :

Blessed by the sermon. The words of Ps Sy has also been a blessing to me. I can identify the blessings too in her testimony. He can produce straight, powerful and impactful points in the midst of his humour.

By the way i have a recorded version of his sermon for Adult service. Feel free to msg me on msn if ya want me to send to you

Emily :

She is a teacher by day and part-time unofficial mechanic by night. She shared mainly on how she repaired her laptop. The only catch is that she did not service it by installing software-fix or taking it apart for fixing. She layed hands on it!

Not only did she repaired her own laptop, she repaired her friend's laptop too!! ... with just the same technique..... Laying hands over the laptop and praying over it!

amazing ain't it.. ?

Me:

Material blessing. I shared on how people around me bless me with gifts and with food. It makes me feel appreciated and accpeted. Thank God for such blessings. And thank ya guys again :)

Mom:

She broke down this whole month. She shared that she felt very defeated by the Devil for the very first time. She is my mom and also my cell group leader. And i do share the same burdens with her. Many members left our cell recently and the devil took this opportunity to strike on her hard. During this time, she wept frequently infront of the Lord. Her mother thought she was foolish. She did not tell anyone in the cell about this until today.

I've felt her burdens recently too. I've also been praying for her. Thank God she make it through the valleys and found back God's love. That's the way it is ... find Him and you'll know how He has always been beside you ..... watching yr every move.

She shared that she hungrily seek and wept to find him. I can imagine the feelings inside her... Lost with no answers, worried , saddened and depressed. What many people would do at this juncture is to run... to leave the problems aside , and start afresh somewhere. How does that help in any way? Running from the problem ain't gonna solve anything. Sometimes the problem lies with us. And we would be just be carrying the problem to another of our comfort zones ... just so that we can relieve ourselve temporarily from the trouble it brings. She shared one very important thing which i totally agree... That is to praise God and seek Him even if we feel least like doing it. God honours your worship. And He treasure it most when you offer the sacrifice of praise. I felt that way when i went for powerhouse last week. He clothed me in my nakedness when i seek him in worship.

In many times of my walk, I would spend quiet times to reflect. To be alone. To seek God fervently...

Thank God that the prayer i made -and the rest who prayed for her- worked. She shares with us the importance of running to God, our Father who knows, understands and is sorry..

I know she is stronger than before.. The devil has every reason to be more afraid now.

I miss those guys from w281. w281 members were formerly from my cell group.
Here is our reunion picture.

Week update.

[ Composite posts ]

sometimes i feel tired. I've done much for people. I really want to help .. but the seeds seems to be falling on stony grounds..

I've learned yet another lesson in life. Be patient to your brothers and sisters. The word never struck me this hard before. I am a patient man.... but i can get restless, and too eager at times.

i guess there is a time for everything .. every season under the sun.

Update for the week.

Thursday
[ spiritual walk ]

I ventured into His secret place this very day. I was on off that day and i went for my very first Church Powerhouse. It takes place for every normal weekday .. 4-6 pm in Church. I got inspired to go after talking to sister Sharon (cell group leader whom i lately get to know) . All the cell group leaders are just amazing men. As i've observed .. every cell group leader that i've met are just so wise and inspirational. I've made a decision quite long back to stick close to my cell group leader. Not to wait for them to seek me. But to be there with them to seek their advice. To better know my directions in life. And to support them when crisis arise. [ and they do often :) ]

Sister Sharon shared with me the early church Hollywood theatre days. Members will willingly come very early to queue for seats in the service. They would queue for 2-3 hours, rain or shine outside the theatre. And when she was young, she would take long trips down to the church to pray. The church is the house of God. It's the place where the windows of Heaven will be poured out unto all flesh. There's where she wants to be to spend time in His love and presence. Even though the traveling time might exceed the prayer time she had, she is ever willing to present herself there.

Just look at us now.

I felt burdened by her words. I felt that we have been taking for granted the things that we are enjoying now. I get to see from the picture of the past ... how priviledge we are right now. Priviledges do not just drop from nowhere. Most of the times, it's through the sacrifices of others. I am just happy for the Sister Sharon, mom, and the rest who have sowed to this building that we have right now. Ain't it a beautiful and amazing place to be in?

I wept before the Lord at powerhouse in the prayer room. As a guy, i always fight back tears. I gather that there is no point crying over spilled milk. But i do know very well we have reasons to cry and we should. Its not a sign of weakness. Its an expression that makes us a human.

The last time i wept was during Emerge Conference. When i was hurt and i desperately needed a Fatherly love.

And i must say i felt his presence again. I was trembling and weeping there. There was 2 other stangers with me in that room but i couldn't care less on what they think about me. I worship Him in spirit and in truth. I remember Darlene Zchech words ... "you'll know if he doesn't come through .. you will be drowning..." It reminds me of the hunger of the Hillsong United crew. The hunger i had. I am so happy to receive it.

I was reaffirmed of His love.

Friday
[ testimony ]

Mdm Alice, my Mdm from our 9 Div team, decided to treat our team and Ray to a treat at Hans. Its a pretty expensive restaurant... [not as expensive as Cafes] but certainly enought to burn my wallet for the week. I ate Hawaiian Ham delight (something like that), Ray ordered Chicken chop with mushroom sauce set lunch, mdm ordered fish and chip lunch set and Jon - some pasta meal which is pretty disgusting after Ray played with his food. The sauce reminds me of the chemical stains on the filter paper in my Chemistry practicals.

We had a great time together. Ray and Jon were constantly eyeing girls and fighting with each other .. while Mdm and I are happily enjoying the show.

Well the food was great. :) It was a great eat-out ... our very first so to speak..

Thank you Mdm :)

Saturday
[ spiritual walk ]

You can tell very well that our church loves Ps Sy Rogers alot. He is a very impressive speaker, very well versed with his flow of words, and a very humorous and dramatic pastor. A Quick snippet of his info ..

"Sy Rogers is a gifted international communicator, award-winning talk-show
host and recording artist. He has been in full-time counseling ministry for more
than two decades with 17 years of experience as a pastoral care specialist in
the area of sexuality. He travels extensively and has spoken in numerous
churches and organizations all over the world. His insights and dramatic life
story have been featured in numerous international TV interviews.... "

He came yet with another great message. Another page of his journey...

Important points that he make.

Love is definitely more than feelings. I guess most of us knows that. Living couples would know that its one thing to fall in love and another to spend the rest of your life loving each other. Love has to be more than feelings. It's both a noun and a verb. There is an act of will involve ... in spite of unfavouring circumstances, you will still step up and love.

In spite of risking Aids and contracting other contagious disease, Mother Theresa step forth to love the unloved. That's love. It's both giving and receiving.

It is acceptance. In spite of the dirt and flaws, He still loves us.

It has nothing to do with approval. It is just plain embrace of a person. a hug.

It has to do with accountability. Love says you'll answer for the things you say. The things you do or have not done.

Actions matter. Discipline comes harshly, but it always comes with love. Accountability is our check with God. The love that protects. To ensure no harm that will come your way that will strip your soul naked. A terrifying end it will be by then..

Love is Affirmation. I won't just tell you i love you, I will prove it to you. I will show that you do matter to me.

The love that brings confidence and assurance. It shows to the victim ever so that the hurts matter to the "daddy". 'Daddy saw it. Daddy's sorry and Daddy knows.' It builds, repairs and strengthen him/her.

Ps Sy said , "No words can make pain go away." Close friends cry together. Theyrejoice when a celeration comes. I feel that there's circle of love that bind them together. Love is more than a feeling. It's an experience .. that sometimes we'll go through together. Knowing that we can seek comfort and relate feelings with each other..

Its late in the night already. I love the message alot. It comes it at the right time with the flow of events this week. Love indeed is something amazing. I get to learn more and more of it each passing day ..

Stay loved.

Night Duty.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I had a pretty cool nigh duty on Friday night. At approximately 1630 hrs, i rushed all the way to Ops room to report for my overnight duty. Well i was already kinda tired that very day. The cool thing is it's my first time. So very likely i can be excused from things i do not know. Things like Report at 0800 hrs the very day you are on duty. I was also selected to go buy food for my duty-mates. We are given $3 for meal each for serving overnight duty .. which however must be claimed. [ pay first. Claim from intranet pay system later.]

I still haven claim my money for my MC.... sighz

Nevertheless, my first night duty was pretty cool. I met an NSAD person called Simon and he is pretty nice. He was the DS (duty spec i think) that day and he takes charge of most of the procedures. The cool part is he is working in the IT branch ... and he can bring down a laptop to watch movies!! We watched Stealth and Initial D which are both amazingly good. talk about an action-packed night. total eye-pleasure men!!

Well anything entertaining would be good i guess :) ... especially when you are stuck overnight for regimental duties.

I had 3 hours of sleep that night.

The Next Day. (Saturday)

I've got to go back for office duty. I was dead tired. I marched off like a zombie towards my unit, which is just a stone's throw away. I collapsed to sleep immediately while waiting for my madam to arrive to feed me with the things to do that day. Staff Eric bought me dunno-wad kueh ( ha I'm lousy at names) and it was very nice!! Office treats are good and highly motivational to NSFs like me!! Eating boost my capacity to work .. and even though i can barely lift my eyelid, i am still able to finish my planned work.

Heart of Worship

I was late today. I reached around 1605 at church which wasn't very good. I hate being late. But today i was so tired that i overslept on my ride home. That stupid delay leaves me with very little time to bathe, eat and get everything packed to go for Church. The great thing is everytime after i step into church, i'll feel rejuvenated. I don't feel as lethargic as before.

The joy of the Lord is indeed my strength.

I felt energy explode in me during praise. I felt a great relieve and peace during worship. And i received a revelation that very day. I felt an impression on my heart ... .. and it has became a direct conviction to me.

I've not been fruitful. My life's a haywire. If i continue like this.. i'm gonna lose everything.

It's scary when i come to think about it. But these words came in an encouraging manner. It sounds like a warning ...... but when i first heard it from God, it's so filled with peace. It appears he's giving me a path of correction from where i've been heading. I've always been struggling to swim across the dark waters this year. Many things happened in my life which upsets me. There are things that i've done and i am not very happy with. And i feel exausted.

a question came upon my mind...

Serving, Making a difference, blessing others all have its placed. But where are you heading my boy? Just where do you think you are going now, Jason ?

i dunno.

I just wanna work and forget. work and let work serve its purpose.

During praise and worship that very day, I came to realise something. a longing that thirsts for more.

I'm heading back to the secret place. Where Joshua Lingers when everybody leaves...

Under His wings at His rest , i will be...

Jolene's Birthday Celebration.

The dinner was great. :) That's all i wanna say.

Sunday

A friend gave me a CD by delirious today. I shan't say her name. But may God bless her mightily. She just told me she felt like buying. After that, she felt like giving it to me. I was like wow ... no one has ever gave me something like this before.... especially in such a manner. I mean you usually get gifts only during special days right? I've never met a friend that give me from his or her very own heart. That is real sweet and i was real touched by her act..

And not forgetting, another friend gave me his Gel. Again i shan't say His name. It has been something i want to play with for quite awhile. And there he just gave me out of a sudden. It's a nice gesture ... thanks dude.

But well, i am also thankful for friends who bless me constantly. They shower me with food in the office. Words that teaches and encourages me ... well i appreciate it very much.

you know what's a greatest gift you can give to a person?

I once thought it's time. Because time is like everything. Giving a person one hour of your time is giving that person a micro part of your life.

Well to that question, i am not so sure. This is so subjective.. But i feel a great part of it is giving "you". Thinking about what happened today, i was very touched by their genuine act of love .. love by giving. But thinking further... these acts are just pieces of a greater beauty. That which has always been around us for so long...

Happy, I am ... :)

WMD

[ amazing webs. ]

Haa this is the first time I'm doing this.... But well if it's for a great cause .. y not?

Link site : Woman's make a difference

After reading her site, I've decided to step in to help. I like great movements like this. I feel that the idea of supporting and fighting against child sex trade is a pretty powerful and meaningful work. To all women and possibly guys who wanna buy them for their moms, gurls or any female they know ..... Get it @ 77th Street [Far East Plaza, Heeren] for $39.90. All sales proceeds goes to UNIFEM, Singapore to fund shelters that rescue women and children trafficked for sex.

i don't like pink. haa. i feel quesy whenever i see pink... i tink i've got an early stage of pink-a-phobia. haa.

Great work Threez and the WMDs.

Greatest birthday in our Soil

[ personal ramblings ]

Singapore has reached 40!

I can call him Uncle Singapore!!

Or Actually Auntie Singapore!!

Haa in the "Inside Track of Straits Times"....
We Singaporeans have a great habit of calling every unknown Stranger : Uncle and Auntie.
Well it's politeness... as we have been taught since we are little kids. But to first-time-step-foot-on-Singapore Foreigners, they would think Singaporeans have a big heritage men. I mean .. Calling everyone Uncle and Auntie can simply mean to them that we are all part of one extended family... but ... well who cares? I think its a unique trait of Singapore.

I also make a mistake today of wishing Singapore Happy 41st Birthday.
my reasoning : 2005 - 1965(day of independence) + 1 = 41!! viola.

I thought like this because of doing too much deferment work in office.. belive or not. haa.

yea sure blame it all on deferment work.. u blur sotong.

yada yada. Auntie Singapore has reach 40 years of age. That's like almost twice my age...

So reaching such age of maturity .. i decided to think alittle about her every-year experiences on her birthday.

What makes National Day, National Day in Singapore.

National Day song. - Reach Out for the Stars [with Taufik & Rui en this year ]

Where's all the fun and spirit if there is no National sing-along? The most famous and well-remebered i believe is Home. I've heard countless praises of the this sweet song. And no matter how we remake the song, change the singers, it stays as a great song. On top of that, i love " I belong, Xi shui Chang Liu and Shine on me. " Those are the songs that accompanied me where i was standing in the Padang field 5 years ago ..

National Day News. [ mainly The Straits Times. ]

I never fail to look at the newspaper for cool ideas or interesting history lessons. Well for this 2 years, i've been read more stait times than my A level books believe or not ...

Parade Show and March Pass.

The greatest marching experience. I believe it even beats the last March for the Passing Out Parade in Tekong [even though i have not personally been involved in that marched]. I say its definitely a great experience to march through the Padang field and to see the President, VIPs, etc.. smiling and watching you leave the parade. [whew.. finally they are gone... ha]

Planes, and Armory vehicles.

Well the Armory vehicles was only introduced into the show much in the recent years. Planes are the tradition. We have witnessed their fly-past countless times .... The great fighter jets that dominates the air. That roar that gives me the goosebumps when i was a kid. It's the pride of our nation.

National Education Show.

How Singapore gains respect from nations? From our small but significant history that makes us what we are today. The little that has become great. That's where our pride lies. I am thankful that i am reaping the tasty great fruits sowed by our ancestors. :)

Fireworks

My favourite!!! There are more varieties each year. This year, there is one that fires and expodes into a star-in a circle. The Magic of fireworks is not just the breath-taking sight.... Its the surpise it brings each time i watch it. There are just so many varieties... so many colours .. so rich, florid and dynamic! The best ones i've watched is at Esplanade during my O' levels year! It doesn't just like up the sky.... it lights up my heart :). Its just so coolz.

National Anthemn, Pledge and wishes.

Gone are the days where I stood in track field, hall, car park durin the assembly to do our daily National duty. It gets boring after doing for 14 years. But i feel it does reinstill the sense of nationhood psychologically when we are spurred or "pushed" to say it everyday. How else would we remember the price paid for racial harmony? I feel that Campaigns, Racial Harmony day celebration, National day Celebration and boring moral educations played very marginally in reminding the young about the unity among the 4 main races. Such celebrations can be easily done .. and forgotten. All i remember during these celebrations are the joy of having half-day off from school after the celebration. I guess lots of things are taken for granted during my childhood days ... Gee i don't know what i'm talking abt now..

Anyway there was a show right after shooting stars. Its call full circle .. and i think its a pretty enriching show. Its about a Chinese, who has been separated from her Chinese Parent and was adopted by a malay family. She has a twin sister, who was a chinese. This is a story about this strangled Malay-proclaimed Chinese ... going the extra mile to find her roots. It's a touching show men. It's heart-warming.. and stirring to see how the twins unite together .. even if there is a language barrier. [ the malay-proclaimed Chinese only knows malay. Her twin sister knows onlyChinese only] At the end, it shows both of them putting their arms around each other ... smiling and talking in their own form of language. The twin sister says she is willing to learn malay to communicate with her younger twin sister. I am truly happy for them :)

Overall, I'm happy today. Well even though some of the plans have changed as some of my friends cannot make it ... i still enjoyed myself! I ate Cheesy Lava 3 stuffed crust pizza and Singapura Supreme Pan Pizza today with my relatives!!! Cloud 9 men i tell ya! yummzzzzz.

Happy National Day to all! Stay coolz.

FOP And My Blessed Week

[ personal ramblings ]

[ adapted from CHC ]

Felt kinda stressed this week again. But well, i guess most dudes from deferment section would feel this way. Like Terrence said, deferment work will never end... and you know, i would hear echos of this in the office. Office life can be real boring sometimes. It can be real tiring. draining. And irritating. Nevertheless, we still get by each day ................. well sadly to see another day's work. And before you know it, everyone's mood turns good. TGIF! For everyone is expecting the weekends! Weekends means great stuff for the overworked Singaporeans. Workaholics might groan. But nothing matters. Cos there'll be no restriction. We can do everythign we want. Yeaaa.

Well i couldn't really get enough rest this week. I have been sleeping pretty late this week. My studies is alittle progressive but it aint good enough. I feel that there are so much work to be done and it scares me sometimes. Dwelling like this can make me tense up pretty easily. My time-table i've set is not working well but i guess i could modify it to give myself more rest at times. I guess sometimes i might have been pushing myself too hard to work. So much so that i've disregarded my dued rest. For that i've been getting constant headaches...

The Festival of Praise this week was awesome. Sadly, i met some accidents before getting there. My hand was caught in between the car door and that leaves me with 2 throbbing, swollen fingers. Iwas kinda paralyzed with pain when that happen. So much so that i can't open the car door to release my hand. I felt like a thousand vessels has been squashed and exploded in my fingers. Prem was with me but he just sit there and smile -____-....

Well actually it wasn't a car that we had hitch a ride in.... It's Kwok's mini van. It has 2 cool back seats that aren't secured to anything. So if you don't grip on to something, you are gonna fly around the back of the van like a pingpong ball in a box when the van accelerates and brakes. Nevertheless i appreciate the ride as it shortens our walk to the stadium from the MRT. And something funny did happen when Kwok was driving. When the van accelerates without warning and Prem suddenly flipped backwards. His legs dangled in the air [ like those helpless overturned bugs ] and he keep saying " woah woah ". Haa he is a pretty funny dude. I helped him up and he was kind of shock i guess. He starts smiling again ... like a happy kid after a roller coaster ride. haa.

Well its the first time Prem and me attended the festival of Praise. As expected, there was a great crowd. I was kinda happy to get to see Hillsong and Delirious? live! in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Men they are 2 of the many coolest Christian bands in the world. And we had a real awesome night. An amazing thing happen that night too. Hmm i shall keep that a secret lest the person himself wished to mention it here. All i can say is that, even though how tired, weary i can be ..... one day in the house of God restores everything.

Well it ended pretty late. And i had to go back office the next day. But still i'm thankful i came. :)

Rest is important. Rest well and study well Jason!

haa.

well if i have time i'll update more. If not that i gonna kiss the wind and fly off.

cheerz :D

[ adapted from CHC ]

Well its a pretty packed week. So many cool events going on. Beats rotting @ home men.

The Church Anniversary is a cool event. Well i'm not saying this because I feel it is. But because i know it is. Knowing that i am part of this great congregation. Part of this lovely family that has brave through many storms. A vibrant and inspiring grp of people that turns my life.
Ha!? i cant make them any cooler can i ? :D

Well it can!

Cos this year we had 4 great singers with us to celebrate City Harvest's 16th Anniversary.
and they are ...

1) Darlene Zchech - Hillsong.

2) Delirious?

3) Sydney Mohede

4) Ps Sun. Our very own church Ps :D

Even serving today as usher, i felt kinda excited. And i'm just so blessed to have my cell group members sit so near to where i was ushering. I can fellowship and usher at the same time. Felt so happy :).

The dance was very good and heart-wearming too. Children dancing with our proffessional dance team men! wow... its just so cool and sweet. The background song is also extraodinarily kewl!

Then we also have Somebody somebody who is from somewhere somewhere .... whom is reknown as one of the top 10 guitarist in this world. [blame it on my lousy pentium 0.1 brain processor]. Ha knowing that is cool enough ritE?? hhaha

Then comes the great message of purpose/vision with a fresh new delivery. At least to me :)
It showed me that I have to remember that I am reborn. I should resist going back to the past whenever my dream/vision is threatened to be lost. Everything will go on well in this great day. With this great Church, my great friends, usher mates, cell group buddies ... men juz totally cool! Its gonna be a long but exciting ... surprising and great journey ahead. ^^
